About Fiudo

A Nigerian legal brand, built from the name up

Fiudo makes legal materials and tools easier to find, understand and use. It begins with a bookstore because that is the gap students hit first — but the name was chosen for everything that comes after.

The name

Three languages, one word, the same idea

Nigeria has three major languages and one legal system. Ofin, Iwu and Doka are the Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa words for law. Fiudo is built from all three, so the country is in the name rather than in a tagline underneath it.

  • Ofin

    Yoruba

    Ofin” — law

  • Iwu

    Igbo

    Iwu” — law

  • Doka

    Hausa

    Doka” — law

Read together they give Fiudo. It is a small thing, and it is the whole argument: legal work is specific to the place it is done in.

How we work

Four commitments the catalogue is held to

01

Written against the Nigerian syllabus

Materials follow how Nigerian legal education actually runs — the courses as they are taught, the papers as they are examined — rather than a foreign curriculum with local cases added at the end.

02

Current, or it is not published

CAMA 2020 replaced a 1990 Act. The Evidence Act 2011 replaced a 1945 one. A textbook teaching the repealed version is worse than no textbook, so editions are revised when the law moves, not on a publishing calendar.

03

Yours once you buy it

A digital purchase lands in your library the moment payment clears and stays there. No rental window, no expiring access, no re-purchase when you reach the next stage.

04

Priced for students

Digital editions cost a fraction of the printed ones because the saving is real and there is no reason to pocket it. Print exists for the people who read better on paper.

Built for the whole legal journey, not one year of it

A law student needs one thing in first year, another at the Nigerian Law School, and something else again in their first year of practice. Most resources serve exactly one of those and leave you to start over at each transition.

Fiudo is organised as a single archive that follows you across all three. What you bought as an undergraduate is still in your library when you are drafting for a client.
